Team Gaia (from the series “Visions of Escaflone”)

An interesting set of players form this team. It has strength, speed and several other little tricks hidden under their sleves. Each player is important in a particular way. A team which shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Hitomi Kanzaki:
The captain of the team, although she doesn’t really act like it. Hitomi is the only member of team Gaia who ironically isn’t from Gaia, but good ol’ Earth instead. The responsibility of teaching the others what basketball is all about lies on her shoulders (since the sport doesn’t exist in Gaia).
Hitomi was also born with a premonitory ability which she usually uses in her tarot reading, but can also sense things when focusing her spirit through her pendant, a gift from her grandmother.

Van Slanzar de Fanel:
Young king of Fanelia (or what’s left of it). Van is a little impulsive, but is also responsible and reliable as a team member. If you don’t get on his nerves, he won’t bite. Incredibly agile for a fifteen year old and very nimble with the sword. When it comes to basketball, he’s nothing to sneeze at either.
As special skills, we could mention his mixed blood, since he’s half Ryujinbito (Dragon God People) and is able to sprout wings voluntarily. Hitomi has also taught him how to focus his spirit which enables Van to have a mind link of some sort with her, although it is said that such link has really a more deep significance.

Allen Crusade Schezar:
One of the best Tenku no Kishin from Gaia. Allen’s sword skills and good looks has made him famous throughout all of Gaia as a true warrior (among the men) and a real playboy (among the women). His basketball skills are barely above Van’s (if you don’t count all the special bonuses Van has, of course) and his height does come in handy during a match.

Meruru (or Merle):
The second strangest team member. Meruru is half-cat half-human and no older than twelve. Her short size is compensated by her cat enhanced agility, but she simply can’t win a rebound against a very tall opponent.

Serena Schezar/Dilandou Albatou:
The STRANGEST team member. Serena and Dilandou are the same person... sort of. Actually they’re two different persons (VERY different persons) sharing the same body. Serena is sweat and caring. Dilandou is simply psychotic and bend towards evil. This as a result of one of Zaibach’s twisted experiments.
No one knows exactly what causes Serena to change into Dinlandou or vice versa, but the basketball skills of each are quite in accordance with their personality. Serena plays a little hesitatingly and doesn’t have the necessary roughness for the game. Dilandou is quite the opposite. He plays to kill and is ruthless.
