Nene Romanova (from Bublegum Crisis)

Okay, so she's part of a vigilanty group known as the "knight sabers" who tends to do more damage than good, so big deal. Nene is probably the less crazy one of all. Add to that, her little girl's charm that makes her one of the cutest female characters of Anime as well. In spite of being an AD Police officer as well, you won't mind if she gives you a speed ticket. Especially when she always does it with a smile. You might even break a few rules just to get to see her. Hmm... maybe that explains the amount crime going on at Mega Tokyo.

Nuku Nuku (from All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku)

She's a girl... no wait... she's an android... er... she's an android girl with a cat's brain (no joke, really). Anyway, this girl/android/cat happens to be always there when her love ones need her. And that's quite often as a military corporation is constantly knocking at their door... with heavy armored battle suits. Not only that, but looks like Nuku Nuku's cat side makes her the always a playful and affectionate girl who never worries too much about the down sides of life. What else can you ask? She can help out with emotional problems as well as in tarring down tanks into shreds.

Mamoru Chiba (from Sailor Moon)

Also known as Tuxedo Kamen while fighting the bad guys. This guy, in British terms, is the living personification of chivalry. Not only he'd do anything to save and/or protect his girl, but he seems to always be there for the rest of the Senshi as well. Although being a good boyfriend never gives any guarantees that you'll be a good friend to your girl's friends, Mamoru is always there to help if any of the Senshi need to talk to someone about their teenage existential problems. And most surprisingly, he always knows what to say to make them feel better.

Makoto Mizuhara (from El-Hazard)

Makoto is not only a straight A student, but he also is a boy with a good heart. Although he's not much of a fighter, he'll gladly do whatever is in his power to help the others. And in this context, "others" is considered as a rather big number. If one of his friends is in trouble, he'll gladly take the beating for him or her. Makoto is also a guy with a high morality (like most of the persons in this list for that matter), he can clearly distinguish between right and wrong and would never raise his voice to someone else. The way he is has even earned him the admiration from more than one girl. In other words, the dude is a gentle soul.

Ami Mizuno (from Sailor Moon)

Another Sailor Moon character that deserves a place here: Ami Mizuno. Although most people would think that this girl has her nose buried on a book most part of the day as to consider the ones around her, Ami Mizuno is with no doubt the nicest/sweetest Senshi of all. Always trying to give advice to her friends when they're in need of it, and sometimes when they don't need it. Always worrying for the others. What else can you ask? Well okay... maybe she studies a little too much, but hey! It's not like she's going to die from it, right?

Sasami (from Tenchi Muyo)

Princess Sasami. Hmm... it even sounds nice. Sasami is yet another person who dedicates lots of her time in making the others feel comfortable. She cooks, she helps, she laughs cutely and she's joyful most of the time. Of course, her age and innocence helps a lot in making things easier. Can you actually say "no!" to someone as cute and adorable as her? Especially when she's asking if you're feeling well.

Fuu Hououji (from Rayearth)

Fuu is the kind of person who thinks that everything can be solved with a nice chat while having tea. Most of the time it works, her mere presence seems to make things more pleasant for everyone. Still, she also knows that when things require a more direct approach and is also ready to fight for a good cause or when someone she cares about is in danger. I mean, let's be straight, along with her two other friends, Fuu accepted to be part of D&D like adventure to save the world known as Cephiro. Talk about caring for other people!

Youta Moteuchi (from Video Girl AI)

Also called "Motenai" by his friends. Youta is like any normal human being (are there actually ANY normal human beings in Anime?) he has good points and bad points. But one particular good point is the one that makes him stand out in this list. The size of his heart. Absolutely no one has ever sacrificed his happiness like Youta in order to make the girl he likes happy (i.e. setting her up with his friend she just happens to like). How many guys are whiling to so much for someone?

Kasumi Tendou (from Ranma �)

I know you've all been waiting to see her in this list. No big surprise actually. Kasumi technically lives to help others and make them more comfortable. You will NEVER see her angry, she'll NEVER raise her voice to you, and she'll ALWAYS be there for you. You could actually say that plants grow healthier when she's around. If you had a real rotten day, go and see Kasumi for no more than five minutes. You'll be in a better mood after, guaranteed.

Belldandy (from Ah! Megami-sama)

Basically, she's the same as Kasumi. Only boosted up to Goddess level. You could actually say that Belldandy's and Kasumi's personality is almost identical. The reason why Belldandy made it to first place instead of Kasumi is due by one major thing. Belldandy is more conscious about her surrounding. Unlike the oldest Tendou sister, Belldandy takes a more direct approach when there's trouble. And considering that she's a Goddess, she usually can pull enough resources to make things turn okay. Think of her as an "upgraded" Kasumi, only more self-centered.

Well, that's it. I'm a little lazy for updating my "Top 10" lists. Still, I always welcome any sort of comment on this selection. Even though I won't change the list, feel free in sending me names of other anime characters that would fit in this selection.
