A Sailor Moon / Slam Dunk fanfic. "A real demon in the basketball court". Story by Julian Soullard (e-mail: jnsoullard@hotmail.com) You know how it goes. I don't own any of the following characters (not even one!). I'm just using them to write this fanfic which doesn't have 'making money' as one of it's goals... otherwise it would be like asking to get arrested. In what the fanfic is concerned: This story takes place during Sailor Moon Stars. The senshi are studying at Juuban high along with Yaten, Seiya and Taiki Kuo. However, the five girls aren't aware yet that their three new friends are really the Sailor Star Lights and vice versa. In what Slam Dunk is concerned; the team from Shohoku is just a couple of days away from it's match versus Shoyo high. And when you see: " " Are used when the character speaks. // // For telephone conversations. * * To make emphasis on a particular word or phrase. ' ' Is equivalent put words between inverted commas. It's also use when the crowd is shouting/saying something. [ ] Are used when the character thinks something. ( ) Are used when the Author (that's me!) makes notes. < > Are used for sound effects. Okay, now let's get to the fanfic... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "A real demon in the basketball court". The clock finally struck two. A thing that most Juban high school students felt relieved with. "Yes!! Helloooo weekend!!" beamed a certain student girl. And of all the students in that particular institution, Usagi Tsukino was probably the one who enjoyed the most when school Fridays came to an end. Without wasting any time, she put all her stuff into her bag and went to join her three friends: Minako, Makoto and Ami. "Hey, girls. What should we do today?" the odango girl started. "How about we go to the movies or get something to eat?" "Well, I was looking forward to catch up on my studies." Ami responded. Thing which only managed some big sweat drops to appear behind her friends' heads. "Ami, doing homework on a Friday afternoon would be considered a crime." Minako pointed out. "You've got to take it easy. You know the old saying: the serene bird gets the early worm." "I think it's: the early bird gets the early worm." corrected the young genius. "Whatever. That doesn't take away the fact that doing homework on a Friday is considered a crime." "What about you, Mako-chan?" Usagi asked. "Any plans for today?" "Well... I had planed seeing someone." the tallest of them four responded. "Ooohh. I see." said her friend, with a devilish smile. "Who is it? A guy you recently met?" "Not really." corrected the girl. "Actually I was going to see a cousin of mine." "A cousin?" Ami inquired, "I didn't knew you had one in Tokyo." "He recently entered a school not far away from here." Mako explained, "It's been some time since I last saw him and I promised him to go and visit one of these days. But with everything that has been happening lately, I really didn't had any time." "If you want to, we can come along." Usagi suggested. "In which high school is he?" "Shohoku high." "Shohoku?" asked a voice behind the girls. As they turned around, the senshi saw a young good looking man with black hair, tied at the back in a long ponytail. "Seiya!" Usagi said, upset. "Would you mind not listening to our conversations!" "So sue me, odango." the student responded, sarcastically. "I already told you not to call me that!" the young leader pointed out, now more upset. "Whatever." replied Seiya. Although he didn't look too impressed by Usagi's threats. "The name of the school you mentioned caught my attention, that's all." "Have you heard about it?" asked Ami. "It appears that Shohoku high has one of the strongest basketball teams this year." Seiya informed. "As a matter of fact, they're about to have a major game this Sunday versus Shoyo high." "Is the team from Shoyo any good?" Makoto inquired. "Just the seconds best for the last three years." "That definitively sounds important." Minako commented. "How come you know so much about that, Seiya?" "As a true sports fan, I have to be well informed on the subject." he made clear. "Basketball just happens to be one of my favorite sports. In any case, I think I'll go with you to Shohoku so I can gather more material about it." "And who invited you?" asked Usagi. "It's just for the love of sport." countered Seiya. "Yeah, right." said a sarcastic voice behind the idol singer. "What do you mean by that, Yaten?" Seiya asked his brother. "You say the same for baseball, volleyball and football." the teen with silver hair answered. "True." Taiki added. "You never showed any interest in basketball before. In my opinion you're just trying to find an excuse to tag along." "Hey!" Seiya protested. "Whose side are you on?" "Well, if that's the case, why don't the three of you come with us?" Minako suggested, as she put big puppy-dog eyes. "What do say? Pleasepleasepleasewithsugarontop!!" "I don't see why not." said Taiki. "You don't mind all of us tagging along, do you Mako-chan?" Minako asked. "After all, I bet your cousin will be very impressed when he sees you're being escorted by the Three Lights." "I don't really mind." Makoto declared, "But... well..." "What's wrong?" Ami asked her. "Well, my cousin is a little *special*" she explained, "He has a very protective nature and has quite a temper too. So... it's possible he might not give a very good first impression. Especially with you guys." as she pointed to the Kuo siblings. "We won't bite him, if that's what you're worried about." Yaten commented with his usual sarcasm. "Okay then. Let's take our van." Seiya suggested. "We'll get there faster." In the meantime, at Shohoku high: "YOU NUMB SKULL!!" the captain of the team shouted. "How many time do I have to tell you not to do it that way!!!" The redhead began to rub the top of his head after getting that comment, which in Akagi's case always came along with a nice blow. [Crazy gorilla.] thought the player. [Imagine treating his most valuable player in the team that way. He's just jealous of my superior skills and the only way to dish out his frustration is through his dumb training. Bah! It doesn't matter. After all, I'm a very talented player and everyone knows that.] "Were you paying attention to what I just said?" Akagi asked, as he noticed Hanamichi a little distracted. "Hum... er... yeah." the redhead responded. "I'm suppose to dunk the ball, right?" "Idiot!!" his captain shouted, after slamming his fist on top of the first year student's head. "Pay attention when I'm talking to you!! Dunking the ball is exactly what you *must not* do!! First you have to avoid doing so many fouls!! Doing a decent dunk is still way out of your possibilities!!" "Okay! Okay! I've got it already!" Hanamichi complained as he began to rub his double lump. "I feel sorry for him." Kogure commented. "Our captain has been getting more demanding in what Sakuragi's fouls are concerned." "Well," Ayako began, "being only a couple of days before our match with Shoyo, it's quite normal that we're all a little tense. After all, this is the first time Shohoku has made it so far in the championship." "I suppose you're right." "And where in Hell is Rukawa?" Akagi asked to all present team members. "We've already started and he's still not here!" "That idiot is probably asleep." Hanamichi mumbled. "It's not as if we need him though, while having the great Hanamichi Sakuragi on the team. "Well, it doesn't matter." said the captain, then he turned towards the other players, "Ryota, Sakuragi. Two against two. Mitsui, you'll team up with me." While the Shohoku team was busy with their basketball training, not very far from there, in a snack bar, a young lady dressed in a black business suite was enjoying a cup of coffee. Her pink hair was mostly hidden by the black hat she wore on her head, same as her dark shades which hid the color of her eyes. Holding on her left hand, she had a newspaper which she was consulting at the moment, as she occasionally took a sip of coffee. Not long after, a phone rang. Or at least, the girl in particular heard it ring. As she opened her big black bag next to her, the girl pulled a disk telephone which was (not very surprisingly) black as well. "Hello? Netsu speaking." said the young girl. //Sailor Iron Mouse,// said a female voice from the other side of the line, //Have you found the star seed yet?" "I'm about to go see the next victim, Galaxia-sama." Netsu responded. "I think there's a lot of chances this person has the star seed which we've been looking for so long." //Very well.// confirmed the voice. //Keep me informed of your progress.// Without saying another word, the person called Galaxia ended the conversation. After hanging up, Netsu placed her phone back inside her bag. She then paid for her coffee. [Time to work.] After checking her newspaper one last time, she left it on her seat and took the first bus to Shohoku. Meanwhile... "So, your cuz is in the basketball team." Seiya commented. "Cool." "Yeah." Makoto went on, "He's been on the team for only a couple of months, but he really seems to be enjoying it. It's odd though, he never showed any interest in basketball before." "By the way, Mako-chan. What kind of person is your cousin?" Ami asked her. "You talk as if you cared for him very much." "I really do care for him a lot." the young brunette began. "Ever since we were very little, he always stood up for me. As a matter of fact, he was the one who taught me how to defend myself." "Then he must be a great martial artist too." Usagi commented. "Well... not really." Makoto corrected a little embarrassed. "He's actually more of a 'brawler'. But he's really strong and very persistent. He doesn't quit, no matter if the odds are against him." "Is it here?" Taiki asked, as he stopped the vehicle. "Yes, it is." Makoto confirmed. "He told me he'd be in the gym training after class was over." As the seven of them made their way towards the gym, the Kuo siblings had to split up from the group as a number of fans recognized them immediately the moment they laid a foot in the institution. As the four remaining girls got closer to the gym, noises coming from several balls bouncing and tennis shoes squeaking against the floor could be heard. Once at the door, the senshi got startled as they saw the size of two particular players which towered the others. The first one, probably the tallest and strongest one of all, had brown skin and black hair cut in a 'brush' style. The other one, with no doubt the easiest one to spot due to his red hair, was slightly shorter than the first, but his size was still way above average height for a Japanese. Ayako noticed the group at the entrance of the gym. [More of Rukawa's fans, I'm guessing.] she thought. "Oi, Hana-kun!!" Makoto shouted. "Wha... Mako-chan?" Hanamichi asked. However, that moment of distraction cost the rookie player a good bruise. As he turned around to see who was calling him, he didn't pay attention to the pass Ryota made him. The ball went straight against his face. [NAAAANIII???] Ayako asked herself, surprised. [Those girls are here to see Hanamichi?? Him??] The redhead went towards the group of girls as he rubbed his cheek. Apparently, he didn't feel disturbed by the fact he got hit. Otherwise he'd probably be cursing at everyone at the moment. All the players from Shohoku got even more surprised as they saw how the first year student hugged the young brunette and lifted her from the floor. Ryota's jaw hit the floor. "Hanamichi has a girlfriend??" he asked his other team members. "Him??? What on Earth happened with Haruko??" "Mako-chan, how great it is to see you again!" Hanamichi declared happily, as he put her back on the floor. "You haven't changed a bit! Well, except you're prettier now and a lot taller too." "Not as tall as you though." his cousin responded. "Look at you, you're huge!" "Well, it's no big surprise." the redhead commented, "After all, since I'm destined to be a great basketball player, it's quite natural for me to have the ideal size." "I see you haven't changed a bit." Makoto said, giggling. "By the way, I came with some friends I'd like you to meet." as she pointed towards the three other senshi. Makoto's friends nervously looked at the basketball player. Surely his size really amazed them, especially now that he was closer. But what intimidated them the most was his red hair and how that gave him a certain 'brutal' demeanor. Hanamichi was feeling quite nervous himself. Speaking with the opposite sex had always been a challenge for him. With the exception of his cousin and Haruko. "Er... Hi..." said the redhead. "My name's Hanamichi Sakuragi. Nice to meet you. [Wow, Mako-chan's friends are really cute.] "Nice to meet you too." said the senshi, forced to see upwards due to the size of the so-called cousin. "These are: Ami Mizuno, Minako Aino and Usagi Tsukino." Makoto explained. "They're my best friends." "Sakuragi!!!" shouted a voice behind the player. "Uh oh..." Hanamichi muttered, as he recognized the voice. He could practically sense the blow he was about to get. A huge hand grabbed him, not very affectionately, by the ear instead. "You didn't come here to talk with your girlfriend!" the Shohoku captain pointed out, as he pulled the first year student back to the court. "You came here to train!" "Let go, you big gorilla!!" Hanamichi demanded. "Who says anything about her being my girlfriend!! It's just my cuz and her friends!!" Big sweat drops came sliding down the back of the senshi's heads, after seeing that little scene. "Your cousin is quite... unusual." Ami commented. "Well he sure has guts to call his senpai 'gorilla'." Minako added. "Excuse me." said an unknown voice from behind the four visitors. As they turned around, the senshi saw another human tower. This guy, however, had raven black hair and had a face which could easily prove he recently woke up from a nap. Not to mention that, unlike Hanamichi, Minako found him quite attractive. "Are you going to let me through?" asked the young man, as he saw that the girls weren't moving and were looking at him instead. "Oh... er... sorry." said Minako, as she moved aside. "Rukawa!" Akagi yelled from the other side of the gym, "You're late! Start doing some warm-up!" The guy responding to the name of Rukawa started doing his exercises without noticing that a certain blond was following all his movements. "He's very tall too." Ami commented. "Not to mention really cute." Minako added. As time passed, the Kuo brothers finally made it to the gym and joined the senshi. The Three Lights were rather impressed as they found out which one of all the players was Makoto's cousin. Not only his size rivaled Taiki's. But in general, the way he was, acted and most of all the way he played, made him look even more frightful. That without mentioning a certain little incident... "Hey, Sakuragi." Yasuda asked. "Does your cousin have a boyfriend?" That comment gave a whole new twist to the situation. "What did you say???" Hanamichi threatened, as he lifted his... ahem... sempai by the collar of his shirt. "Don't even think of getting near her!!! Understood??" "I... I was just asking!" explained the panicking student, trying to find an excuse so his life could be spared. "I'm not really interested in her." "Ooooohh. So now you're telling me she's ugly and not good enough for the likes of you!!" "Nowaitthat'snotwhatImeant..." Yasuda fell to the floor unconscious. The senshi and the Kuo brothers could've sworn they saw smoke coming out from the player's forehead, after receiving the trade marked Sakuragi head butt. "Say, Mako-chan..." Yaten started, "when you told us your cousin had a short temper and was a little overprotective, you weren't kidding." "I'll be honest with you." Taiki added. "I wouldn't like to bump into him in a dark dessert alley." "Hey!" Makoto protested. "He may be a little violent, but he's still a great guy. It's just... that... well, he's an introverted guy and doesn't know how to express his feelings." [Not without the use of his fists, I'd say.] Yaten added mentally. "But that guy called Rukawa is something else." Minako commented, with shining sparks on her eyes. "And really good looking too." "Well," Usagi suggested, "Maybe you can ask Mako-chan's cousin to introduce you to him." "That sounds like a good idea." Later: "Okay, everyone." said Akagi, "That's all for today. Don't forget to be here early tomorrow." Several players let out big sighs of relief. Some of them began to pack their stuff and head for the dressing rooms. "Yo, Hanamichi," Ryota asked, "where you going?" "Just going to talk a while with my cuz." he answered. "I'll catch you later, Ryota." As he went towards the group, the redhead noticed the presence of three new persons. Three young men which appeared to be brothers. Or at least their hairdo seem to imply that. As he got closer, the Kuo siblings couldn't help feeling a certain hostile look from the basketball player. "Friends of yours, Mako-chan?" he asked. "Yeah." his cousin responded. "These are Yaten, Seiya and Taiki Kuo." "They're the Three Lights!" Minako added. "Oh." said Hanamichi, apparently not impressed. "Is one of them your boyfriend, cuz?" "No!" quickly responded the three brothers. Being protective like he was, none of them really wanted to find out what kind of treatment they would get if accidentally considered as Makoto's boyfriends. Fortunately, the presence of the female sex (Minako, Ami, Makoto and Usagi) helped in making Hanamichi act more respectful towards the guests. "I heard you'll be playing very soon against a really tough high school." Makoto brought out. "How do you feel about that, Hana-kun?" "Nothing to worry about!" Hanamichi declared, with his well known excess of confidence. "While having the talented Hanamichi Sakuragi on the team, there's no way Shohoku can lose!" [This guy is full of himself.] Seiya thought. [For what I've seen during the training, he's not even half as good as he pretends to be.] "By the way, Sakuragi," Minako began, "can I ask you a question?" "Er... sure, go ahead..." he said a little nervous. "Do you know that guy called Rukawa?" Hanamichi's face expression changed drastically when reminded of his rival's name. "That Rukawa is a complete idiot." the basketball player commented hotly. "Really?" Ami asked, "He seems to be a good at basketball though." "He's a moron, that's what he is." Hanamichi added. "That without mentioning the fact he's also a showoff and the most annoying person alive in this world. Why do you ask?" "Er... no real reason..." Minako told him. [I guess I'll have to find another way around.] "Excuse me..." said a voice near the entrance. As they turned around, the group saw a young girl dressed in a black business suite and hat. Her eyes were hidden by the dark shades she wore. "Is one of you Hanamichi Sakuragi?" she concluded. "That's me." the redhead responded. "So you're the rookie with a high potential." the girl commented. "Good, now it's time for me to work." "Hun?" asked a confused Hanamichi. In a single movement, Netsu took off her clothes and glasses, revealing some sort of pink ballet outfit but with great similarity with the standard Sailor Senshi uniform. Her hair was held up in two buns just like the way Usagi had them. "Now you'll show me your star seed!" Sailor Iron Mouse ordered, as she pointed towards Hanamichi with her bracelets. The senshi and the Three Lights, unlike the confused basketball player, knew exactly what was about to happen if they didn't act fast. "Hana-kun, don't get near her!" his cousin shouted. "Don't interfere with my work!" ordered Galaxia's minion. With a move of her wrist, she threw a wind current which sent the four girls and three guy back a couple of feet, crashing on some bushes nearby and leaving the basketball player alone. "Hey!!" Hanamichi shouted. "You may be a girl, but NO ONE does that to my cuz!!" As he charged towards the girl, two energy spheres were shot from Iron Mouse's bracelets, heading at great speed towards Hanamichi. This one, however, managed to duck and avoid the incoming attack. "You'll have to do better than that I'm afraid!" he made clear. "I know." his opponent responded while smiling. Taking the redhead by surprise, the two spheres he recently dodged made an unexpected turn, attacking the victim by both flanks. As they struck the player, this last one screamed in pain. As he stopped, some sort of sprout came out of his forehead. As it opened, it revealed a small crystal which glowed intensively. In the meantime, the senshi took the chance to move some place where they could transform without being seen. Since the Three Lights had fallen unconscious, that made things easier to move away and avoiding any sort of suspicion. The Kuo brothers, however, were only waiting for the opportunity to transform as well. Therefore pretending to be unconscious was necessary in order to be left alone. "Moon Eternal..." Usagi began, as she called upon the power hidden inside her broach, "Makeup!" In a matter of seconds, the four girls were ready for the battle. As they went back into the gym, Sailor Jupiter saw in horror that her cousin had already fallen in the enemy's clutches. The glow from his star seed began to fade as it then turned black. "Darn it!" Iron Mouse cursed, "This isn't the star seed I'm looking for." "Stop it right there!" ordered a voice behind her. Galaxia's minion could've bet with all certainty who was the owner of that voice. As she turned around, she just confirmed the obvious. It was those wretched Sailor senshi. "How dare you attack that boy!" Sailor Moon began. "Maybe he's just a violent, overprotective brawler who's only answer to his troubles is the use of his fists..." "Hey, that's my cousin your insulting!" Jupiter protested. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry, don't get angry." the young leader apologized. She then went on with her speach. "In any case, you have no right in attacking a guy who cares so much for his cousin. And especially not a couple of days away from a very important match. I'm a Sailor Senshi who fights for love and justice. I'm Sailor Moon!" "Sailor Mercury!" "Sailor Jupiter!" "And Sailor Venus!" "And we shall punish you..." the leader went on. "In the name of the Moon!!" concluded all four, striking a pose. Just when Iron Mouse was about to reply to her enemies, some fingers snapping started to be herd around the entire gym. Netsu sighed. It looked like she was about to go through another speech. "We've passed through the night of darkness." started a female voice. "And also through the atmosphere of this planet." added another voice. "We're three shooting stars." ended a third one. "Sailor Star Fighter!" "Sailor Star Maker!" "Sailor Star Healer!" "The Sailor Star Lights," said the three of them at the same time, "are here!" "Yeah, yeah, whatever." said Iron Mouse, as she stepped inside a telephone booth which materialized out of nowhere. "you can keep you little friend. Have fun." After saying those words, the phone booth disappeared in a vertical beam of light. Still, the problem was far from solved with just the departure of the enemy. Several bolts of black lighting started to come out of Hanamichi's star seed. Suddenly, several black straps came out from the ground and completely wrapped the basketball player. "I'm afraid our problems have just begun." said Venus. As the straps broke, the monster which once was Hanamichi Sakuragi appeared. Although physically he looked the same, there were some changes. His skin had turned orange and on his face were three black lines. The one in the middle was completely vertical, the other two were slightly curved, giving Hanamichi's face a striking resemblance to a basket ball. His basketball uniform was completely red with the exception of a pink fichu resting on his shoulders like the one the senshi use. That without mentioning the yellow bow placed over his chest, which made him look very ridiculous as well. His shirt had 'Galaxian Team' labeled in gray. "Sailor Slam Dunk!!" declared Hanamichi. "Hana-kun..." Jupiter whispered. [I swear I won't forgive that girl for what she did to you, cuz.] "What's happening here?" asked a voice which was getting closer. A couple of yards away, Akagi, Ryota and Mitsui were running towards the gym. The moment they heard all that noise, Akagi along with a few members of his team decided to investigate, fearing that Mitsui's former gang might be back to cause more trouble. The three of them got quite startled as they saw a group of girls, with very revealing clothes, next to some guy with a strange tan, but yet oddly similar to Sakuragi. "What the heck..." Mitsui began. "All righty then!!" said Sailor Slam Dunk. "Looks like we have an audience for our match!" "Sakuragi??" the three players from Shohoku asked, not believing their eyes. Moving fast, Sailor Slam Dunk threw a ball towards the three members of the Shohoku team. Ryota was about to catch the ball but it suddenly grew and, literally speaking, ate them. The three were now prisoners inside the ball like fish inside a tank. "We've got to move fast!" Moon declared, as she took out her scepter. "Hold it, little girl." said Sailor Slam Dunk, "If you kill me, you'll kill the three of them too." "Coward." "If you want to save them," he went on, "you'll have to beat me in a basketball match." "Very well, we'll do it your way." Jupiter affirmed. "Good! But first, let's change the odds." said the monster as he threw another ball towards Sailor Mercury and Venus. Both senshi were captured inside the ball the same way Akagi, Ryota and Mitsui were moments ago. "Hey! That's not fair!!" Fighter demanded. "Don't you know anything!! Basketball is a five players game, not seven!!" the monster snapped (typical of Hanamichi if you ask me). "Anyway, here's the rules. For each basket I score, the ball containing your friends will shrink. But for each basket you score, you'll enlarge it. If you gals score a difference of 8 points, you'll free your friends. But if I, the very talented Sailor Slam Dunk, scores an 8 point lead... well then... your friends will be crushed." The prisoners gulped after that explication the monster gave. "Basketball rules done by Sakuragi..." Akagi said, "Now that's a real nightmare." "We've got no choice." Maker analyzed, "As long as he has hostages, we can't attack directly. We have to play his game." "Okay, let's play!!" ordered the monster. After clapping his hands, the monster which once was Hanamichi split in five identical monsters. Each one numbered from 1 to 5. "Idiot!!" Akagi shouted from inside the giant ball. "You know very well that uniform numbers in basketball start at 4 not 1!" "Shaddap, gorilla!!" Sailor Slam Dunk demanded. "This is my game so butt out!" After that brief interruption, the Sailor Slam Dunk team began to advance towards their opponent's basket, ball in hand. "Everyone cover the basket!" Fighter ordered. Sailor Moon tried to steal the ball from his opponent, but she only grabbed air as monster number 3 easily dodged her. "Slaaaaaaam... DUNK!!!" shouted number 3 as he jumped towards the board and scored the first 2 points of the match. Akagi, Ryota, Mitsui, Mercury and Venus felt how their spherical prison began to shrink as the score board was put 2 to 0. In the Shohoku's team case, the change was felt even more since there were three of them and rather tall (at the exception of Ryota). "Remind me to give that numb skull a good whack on top of the head when this is over." the captain said to his two comrades. [As if we needed to remind you something you do by pure instinct.] Mitsui thought. Healer took the ball and rushed along with her sisters at the offensive. With the help of some great teamwork and fast passes, the three managed to sneak into the small area of their opponent's basket. But as they tried to score... "The fly swatter technique!!" declared number 4. Using his extended hand, number 4 hit the ball which was in Healer's possession and sent it bouncing outside the small area. Fortunately (?), the ball ended in Sailor Moon's hands, Two of the Sailor Slam Dunk players quickly rushed towards the fearful leader. "Give it to me!!" threaten the monster. Sailor Moon, completely caught by fear, decided to get rid of the ball before any of the two monsters got any closer. Acting by pure instinct, she threw the ball away with her eyes closed. It was then that she noticed that she just hit one of the monsters in the face. "You little klutz!!" yelled number 1, "That's called a 'foul', you know!! If you're going to play, play like it's suppose to!!" One of the monsters quickly recovered the ball and dashed towards the basket, scoring another two points. Most to the disappointment of the captives. Jupiter passed to Maker. But the ball was intercepted half way by one of the monsters who put the score board 0 to 6. "If only Sakuragi played like this during a match..." Akagi sighed, being now more 'close' to his friends that he ever was. "Yo, Mitsui, move over. You're crushing me!" said Ryota. "You think I'm doing it on purpose?" this one responded, "There's almost no room left in here." "Come on, girls. Don't give up!" Mercury encouraged from her prison. "If they score another basket, it's all over." Jupiter said. "Sailor Moon, make sure you pass me the ball as soon as you get it." Said and done. The thunder senshi caught the pass after crossing the other half of the court. Her way was then blocked by number 5. "And now..." started number 5, "Killing with the sight!!" As soon as those word were spoken, number 5's head grew five times more it's normal size. Out of his eyes, flames were coming out and he also grew fangs like a vampire. Even the background became like an inferno to make more emphasis. This however, was easily ignored by Jupiter who kept her pace towards the basket and scored two points. Number 5 just stood there confused with his five times bigger head. "It didn't work..." he said disappointed. "All right, Jupiter!" Sailor Moon congratulated, "Those two points are really going to help us." "This isn't over yet." Number 3 declared arrogantly, "So don't get cocky." After saying those words, number 3 passed to number 2 who dashed towards the senshi's basket. Using a speed no one expected him to have, number 2 dodge the three Sailor Star Lights and positioned himself in a more adequate place to score. Taking matters in her own hands, Sailor Moon made a great jump as she tried to block the throw. Unfortunately, her effort only managed in making her crash on top of number 2. "That's it! I've had it with you!!" shouted number 2. As he materialized a ball in his hand, number 2 threw it against the senshi leader and captured her the same way he did with the previous victims. "Unless I'm mistaken, it's only after *five* fouls that a player is taken out of the game." Maker pointed out. "This doesn't look good." Healer brought out. "I hate to say it, but I don't know how we're going to pull this one out with only four players." "I'll play." said a voice near the gym entrance. "Rukawa." Akagi declared as he recognized the voice. "Rukawa!" Venus declared, as her eyes took the shape of hearts. "¿Rukawa?" one of the monsters asked confused. For some reason, this new visitor didn't gave him a good feeling. Without saying another word, Rukawa made his way into the court next to the four remaining senshi, putting his well known half asleep face. Needed for help as they were, the senshi didn't objected in the least of the new addition in the team. The match started once again. Without wasting time, Rukawa stole the ball before the monsters who was holding it could reach the mid-line. As he dribbled nimbly, he sneaked through the defense and did a three pointer shot which put the score board 5 to 6. From her prison, Venus was cheering on the handsome player from Shohoku. As the match went on, the senshi team managed to put the score 13 to 6. With only one more point, the spell cast by Sailor Slam Dunk would be broken and all the captives would be released. However, Sailor Slam Dunk wasn't going to stay there and let his opponents win. With another clap, two more players appeared at his side. "Hey!!" Healer protested, "I thought basketball was a five player game?!?" "If you want to score another basket," the seven monsters responded at the same time, "you'll have to pass through all of us." As they made their way towards the board, the senshi team began to notice it was practically impossible to score. Rukawa had already his hands full trying to protect the ball from the three defenders that were marking him. That's when Ryota had an idea. "Haruko, what are you doing here?" he said out loud. "What? Haruko?" all seven monsters asked, as they all turned towards the gym's entrance while blushing (although that's kinda hard to see that when your skin is orange...) That's the opportunity Rukawa needed. Taking advantage of the distraction, he quickly dashed towards the board and made a spectacular dunk. The three giant balls immediately popped like balloons then after, freeing all of the prisoners inside. Sailor Moon quickly took her scepter. "Starlight Honey Moon Therapy Kiss!!" she stated as she ended her attack. Sailor Slam Dunk didn't even got the chance to blink before he found himself wrapped inside a whirl of feathers. As the storm stopped, the original Hanamichi Sakuragi was standing in front of the senshi with his eyes closed. His star seed floating by his forehead didn't took long in entering back into the owner's body. As he fell to his knees, Sailor Jupiter went to check on him. "Thanks for helping us, Rukawa." Sailor Venus told him. "I didn't do it to help you." the basketball player pointed out. "I just wanted to use the court to keep training. But I couldn't do that until your friends were done with their business." After saying that, he went towards one of the nearby baskets and started training, leaving several confused persons behind. *** A couple of days after the attack: Inside Shoyo's gym, only a few seconds were left before the end of the match. So far, Shohoku had a two points advantage, but was also counting with only four players instead of five. Hanamichi was taken out of the game after making his fifth foul. But her cousin Makoto, along with Ami, Rei, Usagi, Seiya, Yaten and Taiki, were left rather impressed for that last dunk the redhead did. Hanamichi managed to score even though Hanagata, one of Shoyo's most experienced and tall players, was in his way. In spite of the basket being canceled, that maneuver done by Sakuragi left the entire spectators in awe. Everyone remained silent at the moment. "In my opinion, he still looked like a real demon when he did that dunk." Yaten whispered to his brothers, making sure Makoto wouldn't hear him. His brothers smiled. The boy with silver hair couldn't have made a more accurate remark. The referee blew his whistle, indicating the end of the match. "WE WON!!!" Akagi shouted victorious. The crowd began to cheer madly. Those last minutes have been packed with high tension. Everyone had an eye locked on the ball an the other on the clock. The senshi and Kuo brothers let out big sighs. This had been one great match and no one felt disappointed in coming here to see it. "It's a pity Minako wasn't able to make it here." Rei commented. "She missed one great match." "RUKAWA, RUKAWA, YOU'RE THE BEST!!" "Those obnoxious girls again!" Rei complained, "They haven't stopped yelling during the entire match! This time I'm going to see where they are!" As she began to look around the gym, the young priestess finally spotted the fan club of the so-called Rukawa. That's when Rei's eyes widen. "Girls! Come here, quick!" The rest of the gang immediately joined their companion the moment they were called. No one could believe it. Four girls were the ones cheering on Rukawa... and Minako was one of them. Each one dressed in their white cheerleader outfit with pink ponpons on their hands. The girl at the far left had the character 'RU' inscribed in her shirt. The next one the character 'KA'. And the third 'WA'. Minako, who was the fourth counting from left to right, had several exclamation marks printed on her shirt. Making a grand total of... RUKAWA!!!! All of Minako's friends developed big sweat drops at the back of their heads. THE END ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Author notes: I hope all you readers liked this fanfic. It suddenly occurred to me and I couldn't help but write it. It was also important making it a short story, I wasn't feeling too exited in making it a serie like most of my other stories. As you might of noticed, this is a typical Sailor Moon Stars episode, so I wanted to make it quick, funny and self conclusive. I also didn't beat my brains out in merging these two worlds, so I used the very well known "we're cousins" excuse, which has been used quite a lot. Like that at least I didn't altered the series... or at least not too much. Okay, you know what goes next. C&C are always welcome. See you around...
